There are many hidden pitfalls in using AI machine translation tools. For example, they often translate inappropriately, choose incorrect terminology, or struggle with grammatical relations. In general, I recommend avoiding machine translation altogether. If it is used, it should always be carefully doublechecked by a human translator.

My examples are based on examples drawn from a patent translation which I completed a few months ago using IP.Translator, an AI translation tool.
